The latest Aion 2 update gives the Deus Research Base a much more important role in endgame progression. For players who regularly manage their Aion 2 Kinah and equipment upgrades, the new Encroached version is worth paying attention to because it changes both how the dungeon is cleared and what players can earn from it.
The old Deus Research Base was easier to approach as a familiar dungeon, but the new version is much less forgiving. Players now have stricter item-level requirements, mandatory combat objectives, stronger environmental hazards, and access to better rewards. That makes preparation more important for anyone trying to improve their Aion 2 Kinah income and endgame gear at the same time.
A Different Role for Deus Research Base
The updated Deus Research Base is now designed around Endgame Expedition gameplay. Instead of being another routine activity that experienced players can quickly rush through, it works as a major progression checkpoint.
Characters must be at least Level 50 before entering either available mode. The Exploration & Conquest version requires an item level of 3,800, while the harder Conquest mode raises that requirement to 4,500.
The difference is significant. Players who have only recently reached Level 50 may find the Normal version more realistic, while established endgame characters can start working toward the Hard version.
Trash Mobs Are Now Part of the Objective
One of the biggest changes is the point-based progression system. Previously, players could often look for efficient routes that avoided unnecessary enemies. That approach does not work as well in the new Conquest structure.
The party must defeat specific waves of enemies to collect points. Up to 150 points can be earned, and the required quota has to be reached before the final encounter area becomes available.
This makes the normal enemies much more important. Groups have to think about positioning, pulling, and clearing speed rather than simply running from one boss encounter to another.
It also gives the dungeon a different rhythm. A well-organized group can clear the required enemies efficiently, while an uncoordinated party may spend much longer dealing with repeated deaths or poorly managed pulls.
Movement Matters More Than Before
The Encroached version also increases the danger of environmental mechanics. Players familiar with higher-tier Deus Research Base content may already recognize the pink health-draining ooze and rotating lightning pylons.
These hazards are much more threatening in the new version. Standing in the wrong location for even a short period can result in heavy damage, especially when several enemies are attacking at the same time.
That means players should not rely entirely on defensive stats or item level. Movement and awareness are just as important. Dodging environmental attacks while controlling enemy positioning can make the difference between a clean run and a failed attempt.
Better Rewards for Better Preparation
The stronger mechanics come with considerably better rewards. Defeating Atiel of Arrogance can provide Level 108 Epic equipment, including Atiel weapons and armor.
The dungeon also offers Level 128 Lava Heart accessories, giving endgame players another way to improve their accessory setup. These rewards make repeated runs useful even after a character has already passed the basic item-level requirements.
Another important reward is Philosopher's Stone: Authority. This material is connected to high-end crafting and skill board progression, so players who are focused on long-term character development have a reason to keep running the dungeon.
Nemesis Crafting Adds Another Goal
The new dungeon also contributes materials and blueprints for Nemesis-class equipment. This makes the Deus Research Base useful for more than simply collecting direct gear drops.
Some players may be primarily interested in weapons or armor, while others may care more about accessories, crafting materials, or Nemesis progression. Because several progression systems are connected to the same activity, the dungeon can remain useful even after the first few successful clears.
The Kinah reward is another advantage. A successful run can provide up to around 1.8 million Kinah, making efficient clears valuable for players who are constantly paying for crafting and upgrades.
How to Approach the New Expedition
The best preparation is straightforward. Meet the appropriate item-level requirement, understand the dangerous environmental mechanics, and make sure everyone in the group knows which enemy waves are needed for progression.
Players should also avoid treating movement as optional. The combination of hard-hitting mobs and environmental damage can punish anyone who stands still for too long.
For players building their endgame collection, the Encroached Deus Research Base is now a useful source of Aion 2 Items, especially when the goal is to improve gear while collecting materials and currency through the same activity. It rewards groups that play carefully rather than simply relying on raw stats.
The new dungeon also gives players a good reason to manage their resources more efficiently. When gear upgrades, crafting materials, and currency all become part of the same progression loop, planning each run becomes more important. Players looking to buy Aion 2 Items may still have a separate way to fill specific gaps in their setup, but the Deus Research Base itself is now one of the main activities worth mastering.
