Anybody switched from wood to plastic pallets for racking systems?

We run a pretty dense selective racking setup in our dry goods warehouse and I've been slowly phasing out the old wooden pallets because they keep splintering and the nails popping out are a liability when guys are hand picking cartons. My supervisor pointed me toward what he called a 5R standard pallet with runners underneath and said it's rated for edge racking which is exactly what we need, but I'm honestly a bit paranoid about deflection over time compared to wood which at least bends before it snaps so you get some warning. The spec sheet on the Crateco site shows a decent static load capacity but I know real world performance depends a lot on how evenly the load is distributed and whether the warehouse guys are gently placing pallets on the beams or dropping them the last couple inches like usual. Anyone been running these in racking for a year or more and can tell me if they stay flat or start sagging in the middle? Also curious about the noise factor since plastic sliding on steel beams makes a sound that sets my teeth on edge.
