I've got a 2016 Mini Cooper S and last month the AC developed this awful musty smell every time I turned it on, plus the cooling wasn't as cold as before. A friend who owns a BMW suggested I try a shop in Sharjah that does Mini Cooper AC Maintenance Sharjah instead of paying dealer rates for an evaporator clean and regas. I was a bit skeptical at first but the guy there showed me how the drain line was clogged and the cabin filter was full of gunk, which explained the smell. They flushed the system, replaced the filter, and recharged the refrigerant for less than half of what the dealer quoted. It's been three weeks now and the air is ice cold with no weird odors. If your Mini's AC is acting up, don't just live with it, these cars really need proper attention to the HVAC system.

Clogged drain line and a saturated cabin filter explaining both the musty smell and reduced cooling is such a clean diagnosis. Both problems feeding each other is exactly what makes HVAC issues on these Minis persist when only one is addressed at a time.

Half the dealer quote for the complete fix rather than just the refrigerant top up the dealer would likely start with is a meaningful saving on what sounds like a straightforward but properly done service.

BMW owner recommending a Sharjah specialist for a Mini makes complete sense given the shared platform. The HVAC architecture is close enough that BMW experience transfers directly without any guesswork on the Mini specific system.

Showing the clogged drain and filter before starting any work is the detail that turns a skeptical first time customer into someone who writes a recommendation post three weeks later. That transparency is what actually builds reputation.

Living with a musty AC smell because it seems like a minor issue is such a common mistake in this market. The mold growing on a blocked evaporator drain is not just unpleasant, it actively reduces cooling efficiency until the drain is properly cleared.
