Low stress training works well on autos because bending branches does not slow the plant down, while topping removes growth the plant has no time to replace. On a vigorous strain topped at day 20 results are fine, but on a slower one it often produces a squat plant with a handful of small tops. Side by side photos of topped and untopped plants from the same pack are up on https://turboautoflowerseeds.com and they made my decision for me. Tie down, do not cut, unless you know the strain.
