Where to Find It
The mural is tucked away on the south side of Ito Airfield in the Ito region. Head toward the runway area and look for the hangars along the southern edge. The artwork itself is painted across the exterior wall of one of these buildings, so it’s hard to miss once you’re in the right spot.
How to Capture the Photo
Completing the photo challenge is straightforward, but a few tips can make sure you get it right on the first try:
  1. Position Your Vehicle: Drive up directly in front of the mural. You’ll want an unobstructed view so the camera can capture the full artwork along with your car.
  2. Open Photo Mode: Hit up on your d-pad (default controller setup) to bring up the camera.
  3. Frame the Shot: Adjust your view so both the mural and your vehicle are fully visible. Experiment with angles to make the scene look dynamic.
  4. Snap the Picture: Take the photo. That’s it—the game will log it in your Discover Japan journal and mark the challenge as complete.
A Closer Look at the Artwork
Tatsuro Kiuchi is one of nine contemporary Japanese artists Playground Games invited to contribute to the The Art of Driving showcase. His mural stands out for its whimsical take on Shikoku Island, imagining it as a “hero creature.” Noodles and waves intertwine with regional landmarks, blending playful creativity with cultural depth. It’s not just a mural—it’s a small piece of Japan you can drive through.
Tracking down this mural isn’t just about ticking a box; it’s a chance to appreciate the artistry embedded in Forza Horizon 6. Whether you’re a fan of Japanese culture, street art, or just love collecting all in-game items, this hidden gem is worth the detour.
